Hard for me to understand how a person could just post a few times and never come back.
Like others, I feel that the Cullen story had not finished in our hearts and we will always have hope that SM will give us more, MS or something else.
And edwardstempation, yes, if they change any of the cast, it would be heart breaking. I will watch every movie each of them make in the future, for sure.

SM website had an update today to stop the rumors about her being upset about lionsgate taking over summit. Sorry I can't link easily by mobile, but it said she would be happy to work with both staff from both companies regarding twilight and that they want another twilight movie from her for sure...sounded very very promising on BOTH ends...

It will be sad for me for sure. But at the same time, I know it will always be in my heart. Ok, hope that didn't sound too corny. I also was and still am, a HUGE fan of GWTW!! I was almost as obsessed as I am with Twilight. I collected everything I could find that pertained to it. I still absolutely love it, but my passion for it has faded over the years. Hope that doesn't happen with my Twilight passion.

I am definitley anxious to see what else the Twilight cast is going to do post-Twilight success. I can't wait to see Snow White with Kristen, and Bel Ami with Rob!! And I have a feeling this isn't the last we'll be seeing of other cast members.

And kudos to you Jenn, for being a newborn and starting a thread!! I'm too much of a chicken!! LOL!!!!

Thank you AubreyM...My gut told me we needed a space to get it off our chest..I knew I couldnt be alone on that one. Especially after hearing so many newborns had joined and were new to the obsession . I feel so much better today after posting this last night. That's what places like this are for. I really appreciate that I can actually talk about it here .. on the flip side I'm already thinking in the direction of how I cam really enjoy the last premiere like its the first and only you know. If anyone here is experienced in that area. It would not be too off topic in my opinion to make good suggestions on how to enjoy that as well.

I am very sad because it is so much fun to have the premiere parties and to see all of the new merchandise coming out. I fell in love with the movie first and I had never even heard of the books, so after I rented Twilight, I read all of the books and I started having premiere parties when New Moon came out, so it kind of feels like a chapter in my life is coming to an end.
I have no doubt that Twilight will always be apart of my life and I will always be obsessed with it!! I am constantly making sure that Twilight is in some way interjected into my everyday life

Here is my question: Is anyone sort of interested to see how Twilight will live on after BD2 has come and gone?

I think this question is on many peoples minds. Everyone gets something different from the series when you think about it. And that's ok. Slowing of merchandising kind of stinks, but overall the internet is a method of accessing so much information etc. I haven't delved into the host yet. There is a movie being made about that as well. I haven't been drawn to it like this I must say . But I'm sure everything SM touches will.continually turn to gold. So there may be a slight shift in that direction as well.

It's really all very personal. I now know the books provide something beyond the movies that is deeply special. So I personally know just having them there helps a great deal. The music is so entoxicating that i know that will also be part of my life for a long time. I am an author in the process of being published. So its interesting being in the twilight obsession and also obsessinf over my own story. It's almost as if when i get a bit overwhelmed by my writing I use twilight to escape momentarily. I still get to be in a fantasy place, but its not as focused when I'm writing. I just think personally that for me its now part of who I am and what i want out of life so it will probably for me stay about the same in many ways, even when my own story takes off. Twilight almost balances me emotionally ( if you knew my story line plot you'd understand that completely ) twilight is the other end of the spectrum for me and I indulge daily to keep my balance. It's delightful indeed..

You should read The Host. I listened to the audio book and work and liked it. And its weird, because if I hadn't know that SM was the author, I would have figured it out, as there are many Twilight-esque themes in it. It is rather long. The audio book was 16 discs. But definitely worth a read. I've just listened to it once, now I'm thinking of listening again. There's probably something I missed the first time!

Well, considering GWTW was written in 1936 it's not like Margaret Mitchell is around the write another book. In fact, GWTW was her only book. Likewise, Vivien Leigh and Clark Gable are long gone (Olivia de Havilland is still alive though) so we don't have the pleasure of anticipating new projects from them. I saw GWTW when I was 12 and immediately read the book (yeah, I was wierd, I guess). I still consider it one of the best films ever made. I know there are a lot of GWTW haters but some people just don't understand that the time and culture was a lot different from ours. And the movie (for 1939) was spectacular.

Like you, the obsession has diminished but not by admiration and a love of the book or film. Superb acting by Vivien Leigh. She was fabulous. And she make several more movies... but not known really in the US, except A Street Car Named Desire (1952) in which she won her second Best Actress Oscar. Anyway, if you ever want to chat about her or GWTW you can always PM me. :-)

Did you read Scarlett (1991) by Alexandra Ripley? It was OK. The TV mini-series that came out was VERY different but worth a watch. Scarlett redeems herself.

OK back to Twilight! I love the books, but since I watched Twilight first I have to admit that Rob Pattinson had a lot to do with me being interested in the story (haha).

I will be very sad to see the movie franchise come to an end. But I have "met" lots of wonderful gals here, and I know that we will still have many things to talk about, as well as keeping out love of Twilight alive!

GWTW definitley is one of the greatest movies ever. And greatest books ever. I've heard a lot of people bad mouth it too. I just think they had a different way of acting back then. Actors and actresses were very dramatic. Sometimes over dramatic, but thats what I like about it. And yes, I read Scarlett and liked it very much. The mini series however, was absolutley horrible. No one but Vivien Leigh can play Scarlett O'Hara!!!! The woman that played her had no fire, no attitude, etc...I loved GWTW so much that I named our two pugs Rhett and Scarlett. LOL!

I have been getting sad for a while now because I see everything sort of dying down... where I live anyway, and even in my own obsession... I don't get as enthralled as I used to. Of course, I will never quit this wonderful addiction but with the last movie coming out... and living in a small place, merchandise is getting fewer by the film. For TW and NM I bought tons of merch but for BD I could only find a few items. Although this is actually a good thing because if I put together a money amount of what I spent in merchandise, I think I'd be in a full blown panic attack.

It makes me sad how the fandom seems to be calmer. It seems less exciting to me as opposed to when we were in the middle of it with the first few films.

But I refuse to let things come to an end. As many of you probably will, I will read the books and watch the movies over and over. Twilight will always be an active part of my life. And all the other fandoms that have come into my life because of it.

Thanks to SparklingTwilightMom for the awsome Canadian Coven banner..

I have to admit that whenever I log on, I always look to see how many active members there are and I find it really sad that the number is decreasing almost very day. Last November over 800 people were around, now it's just over 200.

All I can say is that I have met some fabulous people on here and I hope I'll be friends with them for a long time. Though the films are nearing their end, we still have the books, we still have the marvellous actors who bought the series to life and we still have the friendships which have been forged though a love of the Twilight universe.

Don't be sad for the past, enjoy the present and look forward to the future with anticipation. It's not over, just taking another route. Long may it continue!
