I know it's going to be different when there's no more movie releases etc. but that doesn't mean people will stop liking twilight - look how long it's been since Austen wrote her last novel, but every-one still knows who she is and her books are in most libraries and shops.

I came late to this party as far as Twilight is concerned. I don't believe that Twilight will 100% end. There are always groups of hardcore fans. Star Trek & Star Wars are the perfect examples. It's just a matter of the next generation discovering it and loving it as much as the last. And the hardcore fans will keep it alive until that happens. I agree that the amount of merchandise available for BD1 & 2 was a lot less than the prior movies, but there is still a demand for it. It may take a few years, but it will resurge again.

I used to lurk around this site and anything else Twilight related. It's precisely because the series is ending that I've decided to join now - I thought I'd be able to get to know some people that have become really attached to the characters rather than those who like it simply because it's current. So please don't be too disheartened. As long as we want it to be important it will be.

I admit, when I started reading this thread I thought, oh no! The Forks tours and shops are ending? I haven't yet had a chance to go to Washington although I want to...but now I'm thinking, how much more special will it be, to be thought of as one of a hardcore few, rather than the masses! Who knows what secrets or special experiences the locals will want to treat us to, now that interest or overwhelming demand in their home is dwindling?

I like that idea... this site being a way to keep it going...

I joined a long time ago. I went off to play on other social media but there really is nothing like this site. I've made so many friends here. I'm hoping many -old timers- will return and that we'll keep adding members. While it is a bit sad the series is winding down movie wise, we'll all still love this series as much as we remember our first love.

Yes, if you notice the record number of TM members on-line just after the premiere date, we are not allowing the hype to die down. We all wanted to post about our movie experience, I assume. The hype may be dying in the rest of the world but not with us hard core fans.
