    SAGE

I am proud to present our new featured artist! Presenting to you.....(drumroll!)

    SAGE!

    A little info about Sage:

Some people just naturally have it. Most people don’t. The former is very rare in the music industry, but Sage has it. She IS it. Sage grew up in and around music for her entire life. You could say it is in her blood. Sage was raised in Los Angeles, CA where she was deeply immersed in the music and entertainment industry, she has been performing since she was 5 years old. Sage learned at an early age to work hard for what you want and to always stay true to yourself.

Sage graduated from Yale University where she studied theater and Russian. She has studied in Moscow at the renowned Moscow Art Theater. After graduation she traveled extensively and wrote music consistently. She recorded in London and Nashville with industry greats Robin Eaton and Brad Jones who also produced Sage’s first studio EP “Learning To Walk”. In November 2009 Sage filmed her first music video for her song Edie Sedgwick, which was directed by Nikki Reed, of the Twilight Saga films and co-stars English Folk-rocker Johnny Flynn.

Sage’s work ethic and creativity are unparalleled for someone of her young age. She is a consummate professional and is able to maintain an openness that draws fans and peers in and keeps them there. Her sound is unique and is able to draw an extensive and diverse audience.
We welcome you to come and listen to her music at--

    Re: SAGE

Sorry for the delay in posting anything new, but life got in the way and I was bombarded by the real world!
Here is the new video, produced by the fabulous Nikki Reed!

Please be advised that the video is a little racy, and may not be appropriate for children.

    Without further delay.....

Hello everyone! It's me again! Recently we were able to score an interview with the fabulous SAGE and NIKKI REED! Here is some of the interview; ENJOY!

    SAGE:

How did you and Nikki meet?
I’ve known her since birth; somewhere our parents arranged that meeting.

How long have you been playing music?
I have been playing music since I was about 5 years old. I have been playing guitar since I was like 13, that’s when I started writing more rock-based songs. My friend Tim and I had a pretty consistent band through middle/high school, though the name and guitar players always changed.

What is your song writing process?
It really depends on the song and if I am writing alone or with someone else. There are some people that I have really great song writing chemistry with, where we can sit down with nothing and come out an hour later with a song. When I write alone I am usually writing from a feeling that I am having at that moment or from inspiration from a movie or other piece of music. I pretty much always write the melody and the lyrics at the same time. I always have my tape recorder with me because I never know when an idea will come up.

    Who are your musical influences?
I have a lot of musical influences, some aren’t even musicians  Growing up I was listening to Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan and Tom Petty, Billy Idol, Sex Pistols, David Bowie, Roxy Music, but at the same time was really into No Doubt, Bad Religion, Blink 182. The New Radicals, White Stripes, Hank Williams, Loretta Lynn, The Violent Femmes, have been really influential. I got into the blues and old school country music a lot when I was 16. I love The Verve and The Libertines, The Smiths. I guess that’s a lot, there’s more. I live for music so I have a lot of influences. Theater, places, art, fashion, also really influence me.

What inspired the song/music video Edie Sedgwick?

I was recording, and my producers were doing some stuff that didn’t involve me in the studio, and I went into the other room and started playing this old Gretsch guitar that they have that I just love, and the song just came out in about 5 minutes. I really love Andy Warhol and his whole scene so that’s always floating around my mind. The video was Nikki’s vision, combined with the song, and the fact that we got to have Johnny Flynn in it, and I guess people think Johnny and I kind of look alike in this weird way which allowed us to play up the androgynous insinuations in the song.

Which band/musician would you love to jam with?
Gregg Alexander, so badly, I hope he will one day read something where I talk about him and he will contact me. He is this brilliant recluse. I would love to work with Jack White. I think it would be cool to write something with Sheryl Crow, something kind of country.
When you aren't writing music or playing gigs, what do you do with your downtime?
Feel very uncomfortable and out of place, and probably will randomly go somewhere because I get restless, or try to do things that will calm my mind until I am writing or playing.

Any chance we'll be seeing you on the Breaking Dawn soundtrack?
Who knows? I don’t know that my new album will be done by then. You guys have the power if you really want to see me on the soundtrack you can make it happen.

    Team Edward or Team Jacob?
    Hahahaha. Team Rosalie.

Who is your favorite author? Favorite book?
Chekhov is my favorite author. My favorite book though is probably Grapes of Wrath.

What is on your iPod/MP3 player right now?
American Bang, HeyPenny, Cage the Elephant…the Nashville crew

If you can meet anyone, living or dead, who would it be and why?
Chekhov because I think he understood the human soul better than anyone, and I think he is one of the most interesting people to have ever lived.

What do you 'fan girl' about?
I got to see a Billy Idol show the other day, and I was definitely screaming at the top of my lungs and barely able not to rush the stage. It was fun.

    NIKKI REED:

    Describe your relationship with Sage.
Sage is like a sister to me. To put it simply, we are just similar people. Our moms met almost 30 years ago, and ironically had babies around the same time. The interesting part about that is that Sage and I were not forced into some pre-conceived friendship; we actually didn’t start to get to know each other until our teenage years. Despite our similarities in personality, we were raised very differently. It’s difficult to explain, it’s like she’s the yin and I’m the yang.

When was the first time you heard Sage sing?
I don’t even remember the first time I heard Sage sing. As long as I’ve known her, she’s been singing, so I was probably like four years old. I do remember being hired as her "makeup artist", when I was about twelve years old. She would perform at iconic venues like The Whiskey or The Roxy and I would come along with my bag of makeup and get her ready.

What inspired you to direct a music video? Any chance you'll be making more?
I’ve always wanted to direct. Sometimes I think I prefer it to acting. I enjoy the process of creating the bigger picture, and having a vision that goes beyond my character's. I also thoroughly enjoy talking to and collaborating with actors.

Do you play any instruments or sing?
I play guitar, but only for myself. Trust me, no one would want to hear me because I’m not very god. I enjoy writing music, so it only seemed natural to learn a few chords on the guitar to help with that. I also sing, but for the same purpose. It’s hard to write music and not sing out loud.

If you weren't an actress, what would you be pursuing in life?
If I weren’t an actress, I would produce and direct films, which I hope to do anyways. If I weren’t in the film industry at all, I would probably work with children or animals. I would be a vet, and work with animals that help children with disabilities.

Who is your favorite author? Favorite book?
My favorite author is Albert Camus, and my favorite book is The Fall.

What is on your iPod/MP3 player right now?
My iPod has music for ten different people on it. I have everything from Shakira, Chris Cornell and Odis Redding, to Bob Dylan. I’m really grooving on Pink the last couple of days. It depends on my mood I suppose. I also love Melissa Etheridge, and Rickie Lee Jones. Sage actually introduced me to Rickie Lee Jones about 2 years ago on Valentines Day. We were each other's Valentine, and we went and saw Rickie sing.

If you can meet anyone, living or dead, who would it be and why?
If I could meet anyone, it would probably be my mom's mom, who died long before I was born. I’m not really interested in meeting people I idolize because I want to continue to see them as in whatever way they show themselves to the public.

What do you 'fan girl' about?
I am currently obsessing hard over Hanson. I’ve even written them fan girl letters. I’m not kidding.

What is one thing you want to do in life that you haven't yet?
I want to jump out of an airplane. Maybe Ill attempt that next year.
