I finished this book about a week ago and loved it. I know that it is on SM favorite list. The author is one of her favs. I also saw where people mentioned that it was hard to get into. Yes the first three and half chapters are a little slow but full of info needed for later on. I recommend everyone to read.Originally Posted by cometomama

3 1/2 chapters...OK. I'm not sure if I'm that far yet. I am having a hard time with it so far. I just got to the part where she shows up at her home w/ Ivan to meet her father. Should it get better soon?
Yes! It will definately start to pick up now! Keep with it! You will love it!Originally Posted by momof5

Someone on another thread recommended the Princess by Lori Wick (Christian, but not LDS author) to me. I read it and enjoyed it. I haven't found anything to compare to Twilight, but it was an uplifting and romantic read.
Thanks to jen983 for the great siggy!
Thanks I will check it out.Originally Posted by Clara

Jane Eyre
Pride & Prejudice
Sense & Sensibility
Also, Jan Karon's Mitford series is good, and has a G-rated romance theme through the series.
Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read. - Harpo Marx
Ah, I see y'all have discovered Enchantment by Orson Scott Card.
Homebody & Treasure Box are also very good. He also wrote one of my very favorite books, Speaker for the Dead, but it's not a romance. Also while it stands on it's own, the story makes more sense if you read Ender's Game first.
I'd recommend These Is My Words by Nancy Turner. There's a line in there something about "a kiss that will knock your bonnet off" but nothing is described too graphically! It took me awhile to get into it, but once I did, it was worth it.
"My Edward and I, then, are happy: and the more so, because those we most love are happy likewise."
(from Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte)
I just read A Measure of a Lady and thought it was excellent. There were 2 things about it the bothered me, but they were stricly plot related. But the romance was good...and very clean!
