Shimmerskin, I completely agree with you. There is no one way to rate any artist's work. While some love it, there will always be others who hate it.
As you've already said Shimmer, when it comes to literature, it's usually those people who've read many different books, who are open to many different genres who can rate best, simply because they have a lot of experience and a lot more options to compare than others do.
But I ask myself very often what good it does to you to read a book that you hate only because some literate people thought it was good.
This is also the reason why I never read critiques on movies or books. I know if I'm gonna like a story or not by simply looking at the story - may it be the trailer for the movie or the blurb for the book.

I'll be sure to never ever mention mayonnaise to you Shimmerskin

So I think everyone here agrees on one fact: Twilight touched something deep inside of them and didn't let go anymore. It changed something so permanently, that some people find the passion to read in the first place or again after many years (@edwardstemptation ), others look at a book of 400 pages as something terribly short now instead of an obstacle they thought they could never overcome, knowing now how amazing the experience of a book and a story can be and still others had their perspective on life changed completely.
Now as Hamiltons pointed out (thanks for your support btw ): The single fact that you can find weak and strong parts about these books shows how rich the story is that SM created here.
Any story that has the power to change a person's life for the better can never be a bad story. It can be a story that some people like and others don't, but that doesn't make it particularly bad.
So there'll always be people talking trash about SM and her books, who will try to point out the poor quality of it or who will try to show you how you could never compare it to any classic or masterpiece of literature, but in the end, so what? Let them talk, it will never take away the experience you've had with that book and whatever it is you connect with it, even if you disagree with them. Even when you disagree with me, when I'm saying that SM needs to work on the technical parts of her story: That doesn't change the story and it will never change the inherent personal and private experience each and everyone of us had on her/his own, reading that amazing story for the first time.

Stephanie has said she plans to go back to her keyboard in May. It will be interesting to see how her writing has evolved as we have not had new work since Bree's story. I can't wait!!

I was so excited when she announced she would be writing again! But WHAT she is writing is getting me excited; Could it be continuing Twilight or the Host? Or something totally new? " Decisions, decisions," Either way, I will totally be excited!

She originally said that 3 Host books were planned. Since the Host is currently being filmed; that would be my guess or the story SM has mentioned with mermaids.

As an author and photographer I consider myself an artist..meaning the emotions I see in the frame of my camera or feel in the words of my story are the feelings I expect anyone who enjoys them to feel as well. In that respect SM has it down to a science. Perfect diction, perfect sentance structure means nothing when you are sitting on the edge of your bed tears streaming uncontrollably down your face and any talented author knows that... bravo stephanie ...!...jenn

Bella:." Well I shouldn't be dating such an old man, its gross". New Moon
